Discover how the Black Country kept fit at Black Country Living Museum event
Discover how the Black Country kept fit over the summer at Black Country Living Museum as visitors race, jump and skip their way through some traditional sports.
From tomorrow until September 3 visitors will be able to ‘get sporty’ 19th and 20th century style.
Join in with a number of outdoor games guaranteed to get the heart racing with costumed demonstrators on hand to help you hop and skip your way to some old-fashioned fun! Grab an egg and spoon and join in an old-fashioned sports day in the museum’s very own Folkes’s Park; and knock boredom on the head with some traditional street games, including skittles, the whip and top, hoop and stick and hopscotch.
Why not take on the museum’s sporty trail? Explore 26 acres and uncover facts about sporting stars of the Black Country alongside its vibrant and often quirky sporting history. Don’t want the fun to stop? The museum will be keeping its doors open until 8pm every Friday in August.
Grab your fish & chip supper or enjoy a picnic in the park and take part in a different themed activity each evening: see birds of prey swoop in the evening sky; juggle your way through a circus skills workshop; join in with an old-style PE lesson; or challenge your family to one of the park games.
Check the museum’s website for dates of activities.
Visit bclm.com for more information or to purchase tickets. Every full-paying daytime visitor will receive the BCLM Unchained annual pass, allowing you to visit as many times as you like for 12 months! Excluding pre-bookable events and courses.
If you’re popping in just for the late night evenings, pay just £5 per person after 4pm. The UnChained Pass is not included in this promotional offer
The museum is open between 10am and 5pm.
