Battle of heroes and villains at Birmingham film festival
It’s the ultimate battle between good and evil at this year’s Brindleyplace Film Festival as heroes will face villains in a public vote for the final line-up on the big screen.
Taking place between July 17 and 23 in Central Square at Brindleyplace, the nominations for this year’s Film Festival are now open with Batman, Superman, and the Terminator all making the shortlist.
Nathan Sanghera, marketing and events executive at Brindleyplace, said: “There are some fantastic films on the shortlist this year so, whether you love the classic romance of Top Gun, want to see the Avengers Assemble on the big screen, watch Men in Black save the galaxy or bring Charlie’s Angels to Central Square, make sure you vote!
“Despite being free to attend, each year the Brindleyplace Film Festival just seems to get bigger and better, with over 100,000 people joining us in 2016, and this year is no exception. Putting the film choices into the hands of the public it will be interesting to see if good really does triumph over evil or if the villains come out on top!”
As part of the Film Festival, one of Brindleyplace’s charity partners for 2017, NICE, Centre for Movement Disorders will also be screening a series of short films as trailers to raise the profile of the work they do to transform the lives of children and adults with physical disabilities.
Louise Watkins, fundraising and marketing manager at NICE, said: “We are thrilled to be the official charity partner for the Brindleyplace Film Festival this year. This is a great opportunity for us to shout about the life-changing services we provide and raise vital funds for our work with people experiencing a movement disability."
