The Kids - three new comedy characters - are being introduced by a Black Country theatre group at its latest show.

Award-winning theatre company Fizzog is staging a Black Country Comedy Evening on Friday and Saturday at the Workers' Institute building at the Black Country Living Museum, Tipton Road, Dudley.

The three new characters, six-year-olds Peaches, Georgie and Saskia - known as The Kids - have a sketch on a 'show and tell' lesson at a school class assembly.

"It is a bit cheeky but I think these characters will get a good reception as they have done already when we showcased them earlier this year," said group co-founder Deb Nicholls.

"We have always done teenagers or older women before so we thought we'd try something new.

"We've been pretty much residents at the museum during the summer and are also doing shows around Hallowe'en and we are grateful for everyone's support."

The second episode of Fizzog's pilot film show Black by Day will also be screened.

A first episode has been screened at the museum and is on sale on DVD. Fizzog are hoping to find a sponsor to make the films available to a wider audience through a TV slot or at film festivals.

"We have finished filming the second episode now and it has been well received," Deb said. "We just want to get it out there to as many people as possible because there hasn't been anything like this done before."

She added they are still looking for sponsors to help fund future projects.

Fizzog - a Black Country word for face - was formed in 1999 by founding members Sue Hawkins, Deb and Jacky Fellows.

The audience for the weekend show will also be able to enjoy a fish and chip supper, traditionally cooked in beef dripping.

Fizzog Theatre Company, based at Thorns Community College, Stockwell Avenue, Brierley Hill, perform regularly at the museum. Tickets cost £15 and are pre-book only and including one fish and chip supper per person.

The Black Country Comedy Evening is from 6.30pm until 10.30pm. Organisers say the event is not suitable for children and contains some adult humour. For information call 0121 557 9643 or info@bclm.co.uk
