A Staffordshire musician is offering local people the chance to record with one of the most respected singers of the past 50 years.
Entrepreneur Matthew Jones from Slitting Mill, near Rugeley, has recently signed with pop star Madeline Bell to record an album celebrating her half-century in the business.
And he is looking for people to become her "backing group" - as part of a choir on the album featuring highlights from the 67-year-old New Jersey-born singer's career.
The album in aid of the British Heart Foundation is to be recorded at prestigious Ingestre Hall in Staffordshire and even people without any singing experience could be in the running to take part.
It will feature The Matthew Jones Orchestra and Choir and Matthew, who is a firm believer that everyone can sing and has toured the country scouting for talent, is looking to augment the choir with people of all ages.
"Full training will be provided for all - ideal for those who enjoy a challenge and have a passion for fundraising," he said.
The new album will premiere brand new arrangements of Madeline's highlights as a solo artist, band member, backing singer and entertainer. Her early success included two
Northern Soul classics Picture Me Gone and Go Ahead On, then she had several hits between 1969 and 1974 as part of Blue Mink including Melting Pot, Good Morning Freedom and Banner Man.
She was also responsible for the distinctive backing vocals on Joe Cocker's number one single With A Little Help From My Friends and Dusty Springfield's In The Middle Of Nowhere.
Madeline now lives in Spain and regularly tours Europe singing jazz and pop. Rehearsals commence this month at Highclare School, Erdington.
