A Smethwick surface finish company is to take on new staff after investing nearly £250,000 in new plant.
Managing director of Professional Polishing Services Kirsty Davies-Chinnock said at least two extra workers would be taken on as a result of the capital investment.
PPS at Parkrose Industrial Estate started in 1983 and has grown to become the UK's market leader in mechanical surface finishing.
The company has constantly re-invested in plant and following on from their organic growth since the recession tit is keen to continue high growth over the next three years.
"This is the first stage in our ambitious growth plan where we hope to bring new technology into the market to service our existing customers, as well as increasing our presence in mainland Europe."
The new investment is in technology for mirror polishing flat sheets, an area which PPS is keen to expand based on their heavy order book and the opportunity for new contracts to be won.
"We are keen to be involved with Birmingham Gateway,", but were concerned that the UK didn't have enough capacity – we are incredibly proud to be investing in this area, which will benefit both home grown projects and also service the world wide users of our finishes," added Mrs Davies-Chinnock, who was recently awarded the Institute of Directors West Midlands director of the year award in the category of family business.
