Emergency services respond to Netherton 'incident' - people advised to avoid area

Police have urged people to avoid the Highbridge Road area as emergency crews descend on the area.

Posting on its official X account, formerly Twitter, at 8.10pm, Dudley Police said it was 'responding to an incident' on Highbridge Road, but it's understood to be in response to reports of a male missing in the reservoir.

Officers have been joined by crews West Midlands Fire Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service.

It has advised the public to avoid the area to help emergency services respond.

It finished by confirming that Highbridge Road remains closed.

Officers said: "We’re responding to an incident this evening, July 23, alongside colleagues from West Midlands Fire Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service in Highbridge Road, Netherton.

"The public are advised to avoid the area to help emergency services respond.

"Highbridge Road remains closed."

Locals living nearby have reported seeing a large number of ambulances and the police helicopter in the areas.
